Ilosaarirockiin tänä vuonna saapuvalta Mogwailta ilmestyy järjestyksessään kuudes levy The Hawk Is Howling 22. syyskuuta. Kitaristi Barry Burns on kirjoittanut levystä seuraavaa:
“It’s got it all, dreamy ballads about forbidden love gone awry, one minute pointless instrumentals and even some spoken word about the future of the music industry in India. If and when you allow yourself to hear these bitching jams you’re going to want to buy some seriously good crystal meth just to take the edge off.

The Fonz (Henry Winkler) popped into the commentary box and Simon Mayo asked him if it is true that he is friends with Morrissey. The Fonz said that his son was Morrissey’s tour manager and Morrissey once came round to theirs for dinner and that most of what Moz eats is ‘white’, for example white bread and white spuds. They had mashed spuds (white) and Morrissey “is so precise” that he insisted they contact his mum for the recipe. Overall Fonzie agreed that Moz is v cool and v close to his mum.
Yhdysvaltalainen noiserock-duo Magik Markers Kuudennella Linjalle järjestettävällä Uusi Aalto -klubilla keskiviikkona 13. elokuuta.
Kitaristi/vokalisti Elisa Ambrogion ja rumpali Pete Nolanin vuonna 2001 perustama yhtye yhdistelee musiikissaan niin Royal Truxin ja Sonic Youthin kaltaista amerikkalaista noiserock-traditiota, Junior Kimbroughn minimalistista sähköistä juurimusiikkia, Lydia Lunchin ja Marsin no wave-henkeä sekä Faustin motorista krautrockia.
Santogoldin esiintyminen Björkin lämmittelijänä Finlandiapuistossa 10.7. on peruuntunut artistin kurkkuongelmien vuoksi. Paikkaavasta esiintyjästä tiedotetaan myöhemmin.
